Troop 109 Boy Scouts of America, Phoenix Arizona

Troop 109 concentrates most of their activities on backpacking and has a wealth of experience when it comes to backcountry travel.

In June of 2005 they went on a Gila Wilderness High Adventure backpacking trip. The 60-mile, 6-day trip began at the Gila Cliff Dwellings and looped through the heart of the Gila Wilderness. The youngest members were two 11 year-olds.

The troop members where enthusiastic about their adventure and spent the night at the KOA before heading for home. Members of the troop are Will Abbott, Josh Bechtol, Matt Bolin, David Bull, Matt Fritze, Will Grimes, Brian Hickerson, Chris Liu, Riley McDougall, Trent Soule, Kyle Nissen. Adults are Larry Abbott, Dave Fritze, Bob Jenkins, Larry Morris, Keith Nissen, Wayne Riley, and group leader, Lee Shoults.
