The Western New Mexico University Museum

Housed on the campus of Western New Mexico University, The WNMU Museum houses one of the world's most complete and comprehensive collections of Mimbres pottery, basketry, and other artifacts, in the Eisele Collection of Prehistoric Southwestern Pottery and Artifacts.

The museum is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and on Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The museum is closed on university holidays. Admission is free and the museum is fully handicapped accessible.

WNMU Mimbres Pottery Collection

These museum's stunning examples of ancient pottery reveal a glimpse of the cultural and artistic life of the area more than 800 years ago. Other highlights of the museum include:
